The Purpose of my Political Commentary

The goal is to get people, particularly family and friends, exposed to alternative points of view and go deeper on issues than the skin deep, unquestioning, perspectives they typically consume via local and national “conservative” talk radio, Fox News, Newsmax, and others sources.

I’ve decided that I will not make political focused posts on Facebook. All future political posts will be made on this WordPress site. I established this site years ago but had rarely used it, but it’s a better place for the endeavor than Facebook, since that site is really a site focused on people sharing about their lives, kids, family, etc. rather than politics. The one great thing about Facebook is that it reaches pretty much everyone over the age of 35; the younger ones don’t use it, at least not yet.

One other point – my obvious and oft posted about abhorrence for all things the former President and his “maga” movement is NOT an indictment of all things “conservative” and NOT of family and friends who may have voted for or supported him in the past. I fully understand people have deeply held convictions or policy understandings (often misunderstandings) that lead them to vote for a candidate of a particular Party and their beliefs become more important than any specific candidate when casting their vote. So be it.

However, it’s important to now, in 2022, acknowledge that we learned much about the former President that we didn’t necessarily know in 2016, when he was elected (losing the popular vote by 3M). Although many of us were deeply suspicious of his intentions in seeking the Presidency and deeply concerned about his character and respect for the law and the Constitution; even we didn’t appreciate the depths of his depravity that would emerge over the 4 years of his Presidency culminating in his two Impeachments for cause (yes, CAUSE), his 2020 election “Big Lie” and the events of January 6th.

My primary concern with the former President was, and remains, NOT his embrace of ostensibly “Conservative” policy positions. It’s 100% related to him as a man, his mental capacities and mental health, and of HIS actions. IMHO, he was, is and always will be unfit for public office of any kind. He has no discernible moral compass, no discernible human empathy, no intellectual curiosity, and no discernible concern for the WHOLE of the nation, ALL of its people, its traditions and its laws. I see only a man seeking what’s “in it for him” and has and will break any tradition in the service of that; and break any law, if he thinks he can get away with it, in the service of his self-serving, self-aggrandizing goals.

I believe he broke multiple criminal laws since becoming a candidate in 2015 and broke many during and after his Presidency. I believe he is not above the law and he should, and he MUST, be brought to justice for the GOOD OF THE NATION.

It is imperative he is punished for his criminal behavior otherwise his criminality becomes an acceptable blueprint for all future Presidents. It undermines the public trust and our belief in our traditions, our institutions and the RULE OF LAW (not man). We particularly can’t have a repeat of January 6th and we can’t have a repeat of the 2020 election “Big Lie” that to this day tears about this nation and has 30-40% of it thinking, without a shred of evidence, the LIE that our elections are wrought with fraud and cheating. THEY ARE NOT.

Every single study, years and years of criminal election fraud investigations across thousands and thousands of local and state elections has uncovered only the tiniest instances of voter fraud. Literally onesie, twosies here or there. THAT’S IT. The facts show us that IT JUST DOESN’T HAPPEN. The penalties for willful cheating in an election are understood and prohibitive to all involved. And the checks and balances, though not necessarily perfect in every way and instance, are strong enough to deter anyone dumb enough to risk destroying their life (e.g. years in prison and massive fines) by ATTEMPTING to cheat in an election. And the capability for massive fraud simply isn’t possible with the host of people involved in executing our elections, who swear an oath, and by all tradition and 230+ years of experience, show they take that oath serious and perform their election duties honestly and diligently in 99.9999999999% of instances, every single time, EVERY SINGLE ELECTION. Whether Republican, Democrat, third party or independent.

In fact, it was mostly Republican Secretary’s of State and local Republican election officials in Georgia, Arizona, Michigan, Wisconsin, Nevada, etc. who debunked all the Big Lie allegations and accusations following the 2020 election. They did it because they are honest, diligent PUBLIC SERVANTS who take their oath the Constitution seriously, NOT TO ANY ONE CANDIDATE. Three Republican Election officials even testified, under oath, publicly to the January 6th Committee about the accuracy of their 2020 election results in an attempt to, once and for all, dispel all the Big Lie nonsense.

Ofc, the former President, RWNJ media personalities like Tucker Carlson and Mark Levin, and now many of his maga politicians, like the insufferable loud mouth, AZ Governor loser Kari Lake, persist with the continued willful lying about our elections. We all should know they are nothing but self-serving liars but yet they persists and yet many of the ill-informed masses continue to believe their unabashed bs. IT HAS TO STOP.

Their was no massive fraud in the 2020 election, nor the 2022 mid-term election and their won’t be any in the 2024 or any future election. DOESN’T HAPPEN.

So it’s all the more important that this Big Lie is dispelled, dispatched and relegated to the ash-heap of history once and for all. And anyone, ANYONE, who committed crimes in furtherance of any attempts to STEAL the 2020 election in favor of the former President, MUST be held criminally liable for the destruction they’ve done to our public trust in elections and our nation. Again, it’s IMPERATIVE.
